Preparing the camera for use

Use only the specified battery for the camera, and always turn off the camera

before removing the battery.

Charging the battery

The battery charge status affects the camera performance. To maximize the

performance and the battery life, fully charge the battery via a wall outlet (or a

computer), and then fully discharge it through normal use at least once.

To charge the battery via a wall outlet:

1. Turn off the camera.

2. Insert the battery into the camera.

3. Slide to unlock the USB/AV port cover.

To install the battery:

1. Slide to unlock the battery cover (A).

2. Release and open the battery/card cover (B).

3. Insert the battery in the correct direction by

matching the + - label on the battery slot (C).

4. Push the battery all the way down.

5. Close and lock the battery/card cover (E).

To r e m o v e t h e b a t t e r y :

1. Slide to unlock the battery cover (A).

2. Release and open the battery/card cover (B).

3. Push the release switch to remove the battery

(D).

4. Close and lock the battery/card cover (E).
